Your guide to accounts, rides and the people along the way.
Your account
Sign in, choose your account and make it yours.
How do I sign in?
Enter your email on the sign-in page. Use all eight digits from the email in the same browser tab where you requested the code. The code expires after ten minutes.
Private or Business: which should I choose?
Choose Private to ride, buy and sell bikes, and join the community. Choose Business if you also want to create Local pages and share business offers. Open Edit profile to review your account type.
Will a new login keep my tester profile?
When the new login is available, sign in with your existing ChatGPT tester account first. Open your profile and use Link email or Google login. Follow that flow before signing in independently, so your messages, listings and badges stay with your existing account.
How do I change my profile picture or header?
Open your profile, then Profile photo & background. Upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB. For the header, adjust the position and zoom, check the preview and save.
Can I choose annual membership?
Annual membership is prepared for paid launch; billing is currently off and early access is free. Standard Private membership is €4.99/month or €49.99/year; Business is €9.99/month or €99.99/year. Annual payments cover 12 months upfront and renew yearly until cancelled. Eligible introductory accounts keep three free months and nine introductory monthly payments; choosing annual renewal makes the first yearly payment due in month 13. Review and accept the displayed terms before activation.
Does creating a profile start a paid subscription?
Early access is free. Billing is off, no card is required and creating a profile does not start a paid subscription or an introductory trial. Any future subscription requires a separate activation step.
Rides & meet-ups
Plan a route and bring your people.
How do I add a business or place to my trip?
Riders and explorers can choose Add to my trip on a claimed business page, its Discover post, or a community place. Pick your current planner, start a new trip, or add the stop to one of your own saved trips in the current profile. Unclaimed businesses do not have this option. Trips support up to three stops; published trips and invitations are not changed by editing your private saved trip.
How do I plan a ride?
Open Rides, choose One way or Round trip, enter your starting point and destination, then add or reorder stops. Open the route in Google Maps to review directions, travel time and current conditions before riding.
How do I invite people and see who is joining?
Open a shared trip and choose Share trip. Select a private conversation or group, add the meeting details and share the invitation. Accepting the invitation updates its joining count; re-sharing the same invitation keeps the same attendance list.
Can I create a meet-up without a full route?
Yes. Use the meet-up option in Rides, add a meeting place, date, time and details, and upload your own pictures. Review the displayed Ireland time and directions before publishing.
How do I share a favourite place?
Open Discover → Hot spots and add the place, location details, a description and your pictures. Members can react and comment on Discover posts.
Buying & selling
Photos, listings and contacting a seller.
How many bike photos can I upload?
You can add up to four photos to a bike listing, each up to 10 MB. Supported formats are JPEG, PNG and WebP. Choose the cover photo and review the make, model, year, mileage, engine size, price and description before posting.
How do I contact a seller?
Open the listing and choose Message. If the seller has provided a phone number, a Call option is also available. Agree the viewing and purchase details directly with the seller.
What if an upload fails?
Check that each photo is within 10 MB and is JPEG, PNG or WebP. HEIC files may need converting first. Check your connection and retry; review the pictures shown before saving the listing.
Chats & friends
Conversations, group controls and privacy.
How do the chat tabs work?
In Community, choose All, Groups or Private to see the conversation list. Tap a conversation to open it full screen. Back returns to the list. Tap a member to view their profile and manage a friend request.
Can a host remove a member? Can I leave a group?
A host can remove a member from the group member list. You can leave a group through its options. If the host leaves, control passes to the earliest remaining member; a group with no members closes.
Can I remove a message sent by mistake?
Open the options on your own message and choose Delete message. Confirm the deletion. It removes the message in Mottoapp, but cannot undo anything another person has already seen or copied.
What does deleting a private conversation do?
Deleting a private conversation clears it from your view. It does not erase the other member’s copy of the conversation. Deleting one of your sent messages is a separate action.
How do I report or block someone?
Use the Report option on the relevant message or post, and include a short explanation. Use Block on the member’s options if you want to stop interacting with them. During invited testing, share general app problems with the person who invited you; never include a sign-in code or password in a report.
Your business
Local pages, directions and Discover offers.
Does every new business get three months free?
Yes. Every eligible new business gets three calendar months free when it separately activates the optional membership after billing opens. Then it is €4.99/month in months 4–12 and €9.99/month from month 13, or €99.99/year from month 13 if annual renewal is selected. One introductory offer per business, including if it creates another account. Founding badges are separate and limited to the first 50 businesses. Claiming and basic page management stay free. Free testing and ownership approval do not use up the trial.
Who can publish a Local page?
Only Business accounts can create and update Local pages. Add the business description, category, photos, website and directions. Private members can browse Local and contact businesses.
How does an offer appear in Discover?
Add the offer details to your business page and explicitly share the promotion to Discover. The Offers & promotions section shows member-created offers that have been shared there.
What happens if I switch to Private?
Your business pages are hidden from other members and shared promotions are withdrawn. You can manage your saved pages as their owner. Switching back to Business does not automatically share old offers again.
Notifications & help
Choose your alerts and ask the community.
How do I choose my notifications?
Open the bell, then Notification settings. Choose which message, friend, offer, bike, trip and Rider in trouble alerts you want. These choices also control the activity shown in your notification inbox.
How do I get alerts on my phone?
In Notification settings, choose Enable device alerts and allow notifications when your browser asks. Enable them separately on each device. Your browser and operating system must support Web Push; on iPhone or iPad you may need to add Mottoapp to the Home Screen first. Delivery depends on your device, connection and settings.
What is Rider in trouble?
Use Rider in trouble on Discover to describe a breakdown or problem and share a location with members. You can receive replies and mark the post resolved. Posts close after 24 hours unless resolved earlier. Community posts do not contact emergency services and a response is not guaranteed.
